Playing Hard

One thing Imogen loves to do is play -- and she plays hard! She is always busy doing something, moving towards something, studying something. I thought I would post some pictures of her playing it up this past weekend at my parents house. And boy, was she worn out! She slept in late today and took extra long naps. Chris was very happy about this :-)

She was very interested in the dogs this visit as well -- Evie especially. Evie is Imogen's little protector and I'm sure they'll be good friends! Imogen is learning how to pet Evie gently...hopefully she catches on soon!

10 Months Old

Imogen is 10 months old today! She is getting to be more and more like a big girl and less like a baby every day. In the top picture, she is pulling up on a bookshelf (typical), the middle picture is her playing on the floor at my parents house, and the bottom picture is her and my youngest brother, Joe. You can see her bottom 2 teeth if you look close!

Here are some fun facts about Imogen at 10 months:

* She has 6 teeth! (the 4 top front teeth all came through at the same time -- we noticed them on March 14th for the first time)
* She pulls up to standing like a pro and cruises ever so slowly around furniture.
* She is able to stand all by herself and balance for up to a minute before falling on her bum.
* Crawling is her favorite mode of transportation, and she is fast!
* She is a little chatterbox, talking to us or herself or the cats.
* She claps and waves to everyone.
* She loves to eat Gerber Puffs...and is slightly better at baby food, but otherwise still on breastmilk.
* She is probably close to 20 pounds and wearing 12 month clothing.

There are so many other fun things that Imogen is doing now that I cannot possibly name them all. She is such a happy little girl who enjoys smiling, laughing, playing and cuddling! We are so very blessed :-)

Another Shower

Tis the season!

Today Imogen and I went to a bridal shower for our friend, Vanessa. It was held at a beautiful country club. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and catching up with some friends before watching Vanessa open loads of gifts while Imogen played on the floor with 2 young girls. That's one thing I've noticed since we've been getting out -- Imogen loves to play with other kids! It's so fun to watch her interact with other little ones and try to mimic what they are doing. Here are a few pictures from the day...unfortunately I didn't get one of us with Vanessa because Imogen was getting very tired towards the end of the shower and needed to get home. However, we'll be sure to get one on her special day :-)

Baby in a Basket

The other day while I was folding clothes in the upstairs hallway, I noticed that Imogen was playing with this basket more than usual...so I picked her up and put her in it. She sat so nice and barely moved at all. Mostly because every time she moved, it would rock back and forth and I'm sure she got nervous. Of course, I had to snap some pictures! Enjoy :-)

Birthday, Little Tornado & a Shower

First, I want to say a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sister and Imogen's Aunt Lisa :-) I won't say how old she is in the event she doesn't want me to tell! We miss her lots and hope that we get to see her again soon. Mwah!

Next, you read the title right, folks. We have a small tornado on our hands....about 27" tall and nearing 20 lbs. She seems to cycle around the house leaving a destructive path behind her wherever she goes. There is no telling when this tornado will stop! See below for graphic photos of the tornado in action...

It is really so funny seeing her go from place to place and try to figure out what she can open/move/pull-up on. At this point, we don't mind cleaning up after her, but she will learn how to do it herself soon enough.

Lastly, yesterday we went to a bridal shower for a good friend who got married on Valentine's Day. It was a lot of fun and Imogen got to play with tons of kiddos! She was all dressed up in her sailor dress, looking pretty! It was very hard to get a picture of her from the front because she was constantly on the move.

Knit Ruffle Capris

A week ago today I finished knitting a pair of capris for Imogen. I even added ruffles at the bottom cuffs, which is much harder and more tedious than it looks. I bought this yarn awhile ago after pondering over it for at least a week--I absolutely loved the colors in the pictures and the yarn did not disappoint in real life! It is also so unbelieveably soft! I have never knit with this type of yarn before, so it was fun :-)

Capri Specs
Yarn Dyed By: Southwest Spectrum
Yarn Type: Gaia Organic Merino
Colorway: Dawn's Early Light

Imogen likes them too, but she hasn't worn them yet except in these action shots:

Onto the next project...
